2. Build the educational development strategy from 2009 to 2010.
3. Expand into training viewpoint in accordance with social needs. On September 9^th,2008, the National Steering Committee on training for social needs from 2008 to 2015 has been established and conducted under Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of MoET – Nguyen Thien Nhan as the Manager.
4. Build the renovation project of financial management in education and training; continue to perform loans for students and poor students to their studies in the large scale.
As December 31^st, 2008, there were 1,210 students on loans with the total amount of 9,870 billion VND. The training credit policies have created good conditions for more than 1 million students to get enough budgets for their studies and help more than 1 million households have conditions for their children to study.
5. Review the ethnic education mission and construction project for the period 2009 – 2020.
6. Deploy donations annually for Vietnamese students to have enough school clothes, textbooks and stationery sets.
7. Break through on the quality of training and training management.
On January 5^th, 2008, the MoET firstly held a national conference on assessing the quality of higher education. In addition, the MoET also organized the conference on construction and operation of the universities having been established since 1998 on August 30^th, 2008.
8. Promote the application of IT associated with administrative reform.
On December 31^st, 2008, the MoET initially organized the meeting with 63 Departments of Education and Training. The MoET , the first one, got the fibre optic cable directly to 63 Departments of Education and Training and the Vietnam’s Informatics Association has ranked the first among the ministries that have been ready to develop and apply IT.
9. Organize the 7^th PHU DONG competition in 2008 successfully and the Vietnam’s student sports delegates ranked the second at the 14^th SEAGAMES.
10. Establish Vietnam – Germany University, and organize the 39^th International Physics Olympic.
11. Grant the People’s and Brilliant Teachers for 917 teachers from the President.
12. Organize the 13^th Vietnam’s Education Union (term 2008 – 2012) successfully. This is the most important political event for over 1 million educational members.
