On September 21^st, 2009, the 8^th course of “Inspecting collaborators in high schools” and the 10^th class of “Inspecting collaborators in secondary schools” are open. Mr. Huynh Ho, Vice Rector, staff of Training Department and 60 participants attend these two classes. 
    Mr. Do Thiet Thach, Vice Rector and staff of Training Department also participate in the opening of the “Building capacities of financial and propertied management” in Long Xuyen that day.

    On July 14^th, 2009, Rector of the IEMH – Mr. Nguyen Xuan Te – has issued Decision No. 200/KH-CBQLGDHCM on planning to open the cultivating classes for the educational training staff, school year 2009 – 2010.

    To strengthen the application of information technology (IT) into teaching and learning to improve the quality of the lectures, the IEMH has organized the meeting for sharing the experiences on “IT in teaching” by M.A. Phung Dinh Dung. The program content includes the reports about SwiffpointPlayer to apply motion pictures into lectures that make them more lively; Vietspell to help decode more quickly; Dual Monitors to show 2 screens and Fineprint to save papers for those who need to increase a lot of materials.

On June 2^nd, 2008, with the theme of “Renovating the training and improvement for the educational managers and inspectors” a scientific seminar was held by the IEMH. The purpose of this workshop is to improve the quality of training and strength in the training organizations and educational managers. The workshop discusses 5 issues: (1) renovating the content and program, (2) improving methods and trainings, (3) renewing the evaluation methods, (4) renovating the extra-activities, and (5) reforming the service system.

On June 12, 2008 the Labor Union held an essay contest on the life, life-work, moral lessons, and revolutionary model of Ton Duc Thang. Articles were judged on their eloquence and written quality. Selected articles from the school round will advance to the city round. All lectures and staff members of the College contributed articles to the contest

On June 1, 2008 the Labor Union held a meeting to present gifts and awards of academic achievement to the children of the lectures and staff of the college.

On January 13^th, 2008 Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) organized the press conference to announce 12 outstanding events of the education and training in 2008 as follows:
1. Continue to implement of the “No two” campaign and carry out the emulation movement “Building friendly schools, active students”. From the school year 2008 – 2009, MoET has launched the emulation movement “Building friendly schools, active students” to make the breakthrough in the construction of good teaching environment and intensify the moral education for all students. After 4 months of implementation, 2,191 schools have registered to join the campaign and 2,816 historic and cultural relics have been taken care of.

    The draft of education strategy 2009 – 2020 has set a goal that at least 5 Vietnamese universities would have been ranked in the top 50 universities of ASEAN and 2 universities would have been ranked in the list of 200 leading universities in the world by 2020. The MoET promulgated the 13^th draft of Vietnam’s educational development strategy 2009 – 2020. This draft will be launched publicly before getting comments for 2 months.
